the solution is to find the Makefiles (and Makefile configurators) and spec files that refer to values-Xa.o and replace it with the correct (fully qualified path) name instead.
Note that you must have the appropriate Sun packages installed to have values-xa.o in the first place. Refer to the faq on sunfreeware.com to obtain the correct patch numbers.
